2019 AFL-CIO United!
Vermont labor is ready for a progressive change. The 2019 VT AFL-CIO United! program and strong leadership aims to bring just that - change. After a disappointing end to the 2018 legislative session, union members are poised to work hard, in solidarity, to make significant gains in 2019 and 2020. The first step is to elect a new VT AFL-CIO president and leadership.
David Van Duesen came to the Vermont Building Trades and asked to work together in order to build this change. Van Duesen is running for president and has built a 10-point program that expands voting rights, builds solidarity, reorganizes political tactics, focuses on organizing new shops throughout the state, enhances social programs, and creates paths for unions jobs when it comes to rebuilding our infrastructure and investing in a healthier environment.
The IBEW has 2 Local 300 members running for a position on the United! slate: Tim LaBombard for Member-at-Large and Danielle Bombardier for Secretary/Treasurer. LaBombard is currently the President of IBEW Local 300 and the Vermont Building and Construction Trades Council. Bombardier is the organizer for the IBEW Local 300.
The convention will be held on September 14 and 15th, 2019 in South Burlington.
